My name is Janet Wohlgemuth and I would be honored to receive your support for Monterey County Board of Education, Trustee Area 4. I was born and raised here in Monterey County, attended local schools and received my degree in Fire Science from Hartnell Community College. For the past 22 years, I have worked with young adults ages 18-25, for the California Conservation Corps, teaching emergency response such as fighting fires, floods and earthquakes, and working outdoors to improve our natural resources. With two children in our schools, community is one of my biggest priorities and I am excited to put my local knowledge and experience to work for Monterey County. I am deeply invested in my community and have served as: Vice President and Treasurer of the Laurelwood School PTC Board Continental Little League Board of Directors and Umpire 4H Volunteer Salinas Valley Model Rail Road Museum docent Salinas Rodeo Volunteer Foster care parent, Monterey County I believe that schools throughout Monterey County need a fresh perspective, new ideas and someone who understands the issues affecting our students, teachers, parents and our entire community. I see a real need for increased parent involvement in our schools, expansion of skills and trades being taught, and improved access to resources for students with greater needs. With your vote, I will work to expand these programs and resources. I look forward to serving my community as your voice on the Monterey County Board of Education. I hope that I can count on your vote on November 3rd. |
