For Steve, running for Calabasas City Council is the fulfillment of a life-long dream + the greatest expression of thanks he can give to a country that has given his family and him so much. Steve grew up in South Africa, served in the Air Force, and attended college and law school. He came to America in 1991, following school on a backpacking trip and never left. Steve is the founder and managing partner of Roseman & Associates, a Sherman Oaks-based law firm. Under Steve's leadership, Roseman & Associates prides itself on providing quality and ethical legal representation to its clients in the areas of real estate, corporate/business, homeowner association, and construction defect law. Steve is an acknowledged industry leader in the legal profession. He regularly lectures to and serves on committees for the Community Association Institute, an organization committed to educating HOA boards of directors and homeowners. Steve moved into the Calabasas community in 2004, and he is actively involved in Calabasas community affairs. He served as president of Mont Calabasas Homeowners Association for a number of years and is currently the Association's vice president. He was appointed to serve on the Calabasas Historic Preservation Commission by Mary Sue Maurer. Serving on this Commission allows Steve to engage directly with Calabasas residents and businesses on a range of cultural, historical, architectural and historic preservation issues within the city. He was voted to serve as the Chair of the Commission earlier this year. Steve is active in a number of charitable, non-profit organizations and causes. For years, Steve has served on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation + LA and is very active in not only fundraising, but also at the organizational level. He is also actively involved in the Wounded Warrior Project, and annually participates in the "Mud Run" at Camp Pendleton to raise funds for the project. He has participated in fundraising efforts for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and contributes financially to other charities and organizations. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast. Because of his love of nature and the outdoors, Steve is an enthusiastic Sierra Club member and is an outspoken open space advocate. Steve is father of three children, all of whom attend school in the Las Virgenes Unified School District. He is an avid runner who has successfully completed six half-marathons. |
