Full Biography for Eric Pinal

I am running for school board because I am passionate about education and have devoted my life-long professional career to education. Being an educator is not simply a profession it is a calling in my life. I have been in education for the past thirty years, beginning as a teacher's assistance and progressing as an elementary teacher, elementary school counselor and for the past nine years I have been working as a high school counselor focusing on special education and at-risk students. I have lived in West Covina for the past twenty years and my four daughters have attended and/or graduated from West Covina high school, Edgewood high school and San Jose Charter. I believe that we have a good educational system in the West Covina district but I know that it can become a great educational system. I understand the challenges that educators face both at the administrative level and the instructional level. As an elementary and secondary counselor for the last fifteen years I have come to closely understand the struggles and barriers that students face at the school sites. Every student needs a safe, clean and caring learning environment as well as committed and devoted professional instructors. |
