I'm a life-long resident of Santa Fe Springs and attended city schools. I was hired as a lifeguard and swim instructor by the City while completing my undergraduate and graduate studies. I was then promoted to Supervising Senior Guard. As an American Red Cross Instructor-Trainer, I trained and certified swim instructors locally and from surrounding communities. I have been involved in the construction, repair, maintenance and yearly operation of our Christmas Float Program. Other duties included: bus driver(including our beloved double-decker bus), shuttle driver for senior citizens doctor appointments and meals-on-wheels program, Community Gardens Administration and consultant to other community gardens. Aside from the many years of teaching First Aid and CPR to our local residents (which are currently not offered + but I plan to implement again), I have certified members of public works, recreation, child care and coaches from local high schools. I graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences (formerly Los Angeles College of Chiropractic). I was licensed to practice in 1996. I've been in practice in Santa Fe Springs since 1998. I participate in the Mentor Program for Santa Fe High School and team doctor for Santa Fe High School Football team (GO CHIEFS!). I have served on Tri-city ROP Business Advisory Committee and Rio Hondo American Red Cross Health and Safety Committee. I am a council member with Florence Avenue Foursquare Church and on Little Lake City School District Wellness Committee. I am married and have 5 children, 4 that attend schools in the City. My goal is to allow them and all city youth the opportunities of sound community based programs administered by qualified personnel. I want quality organized programs for all: from the early years to the golden years. |
