Full Biography for Robin G. Merkley
Candidate for |

|
My husband, Kendall, and I have lived in Glendora for over 29 years and have raised our five children here. All of our children graduated from Glendora High School and have gone on to university education. I was awarded a BS in Vocational Home Economics from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce) and an MA in Education from Cal Poly Pomona. I taught 7th-9th grades full time for two years and have been a substitute teacher in GUSD for over ten years. I chose to stay home when my children were young so I could be involved in their education. I ran a seven-member family on one salary, so I'm experienced with budgeting. I have served on various committees for GUSD: Attendance, Budget, Calendar and Bond Oversight. I also served on the 7-11 committee that closed Williams Elementary School. I have gained leadership experience by serving as PTA president at Williams Elementary, Glendora High School, Whitcomb High School and Glendora Council of PTAs. I served as president of the women's organization at Church for eight years, total, and in various other leadership positions. I am currently serving on the Glendora Public Library Board of Trustees and as president of Glendora Community Coordinating Council. |
