What the other candidates didn't say that helped me decide to run.
I've decided to run for one of the two available seats in the council of the City of Santa Fe Springs.
The plan is to rebuild our once great city, to attract not only new business but the right businesses. I feel our city must present a clear vision of how it wants to grow. As a lifelong resident I remember Telegraph Rd. being a place where locals could find anything and everything they needed, we must build up Telegraph Rd. back to "Main Street" status once again.
Crime is a major issue everywhere, we are anchored by the Police Services center and Sheriffs office all the while Whittier P.D. cruisers keep an eye on our streets, but its going to take more than that, we the residents need to be proactive and diligent by supporting existing & creating new neighborhood watch groups and communicate all this through social media.
For residents and those who want to invest or relocate to our city, we need to assure that it will be a safe, beautiful place to live and raise a family. The focus should be on the future, providing fresh, attractive programs and events which truly reach deep into the city keeping kids off the streets, this plan will set a new standard of expectation for our youth.
My background working in aerospace, real estate and apparel as a manager, sales professional and currently a marketing/social media consultant, this coupled with volunteering as an appointed Recreation Committee and Sister City Committee member, gives me the knowledge, strength and support to make this a reality. Many people sit and patiently wait for change to occur, but as your representative of our beloved city, this will not be the case. Change does not simply talk, it doesn't take place without hard work, and if we work hard, we will start seeing results. Together, we can make Santa Fe Springs great again.
