Donna Freedman for Rowland Unified School District Board of Education

By Donna Freedman

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Rowland Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
  • Dedicated teacher for 35 years at the same elementary school
  • Determined to speak up for our children
  • Lived in Rowland Heights for 29 years
  • Children attended Rowland Unified School District, 1st - 12th grades
y Platform:
My motto is CHILDREN FIRST! My children were fortunate to have an excellent education at Rowland and I plan on using my expertise and experience in education to help our district continue providing excellent education for all of our students.

My priority is safety for all of our students. I am concerned about bullying, drugs, gangs, discipline, referrals, and suspensions. More strategies and planning are necessary to stop these. If elected, I will advocate field trips for all of our grades; currently sixth graders are the only students that go to camp. It concerns me that the upper grade classes have 35 students in a classroom, and I will recommend smaller class sizes.

Awards: Teacher of the Year Award received twice

Words that describe me: honest, caring, result oriented, dependable, reliable, hardworking, organized, fair, optimistic
