Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Glendora Unified School District

I have been a community college instructor for over 30 years and have been an activist for education for over a decade. I have served as a California Teachers Association State Delegate for over 6 years and I am the only higher education representative that is a committee chair (School Safety/School Management Committee) at State Council. I am also the only higher education representative for California in the National Education Association Resolutions Committee. The Resolutions Committee creates the policy and belief system of the NEA. At home I am the President of the Citrus College Adjunct Faculty Federation, the co-chair of the Part-Time Committee for California Federation of Teachers (CFT), serve on the Community College Council Executive Board and I am one of several Vice Presidents to the CFT. I have been active on School Safety/School Management Committee issues such as gun safety, classroom safety, drug education, and bullying. CTA and CFT both develop policies to pursue support or opposition on legislation for education including school safety. I have lobbied in Sacramento on educational issues and I will continue to do so in order to keep our children safe and give them the best education possible to become life-long learners and successful citizens.
