Jason Ortitay is a 2014 candidate for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 46th District. He is originally from Avella, and currently resides in Bridgeville. After graduating from Avella High School in 2002, he then went on to Robert Morris University, where he earned a Bachelors of Business Administration (BA) in 2004. Seeking to further continue his education, Jason moved to DeLand, FL, where he attended Stetson University and earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2005. Upon completion of his MBA, Jason decided his heart was in Southwestern PA, and he moved back to the area in December, 2005. Upon returning to the area, Jason worked in the banking industry for over four years, acting first as a Relationship Manager, and then working in Treasury Management for PNC Bank. In 2012, Jason founded Jason's Cheesecake Company LLC to aid local schools and other non-profit organizations in Western Pennsylvania raise money for various causes and functions. In 2013, Jason created the John J. Ortitay Entrepreneur Scholarship in honor of his grandfather, which encourages high school seniors with interests in business and finance to further explore these career paths at the collegiate level. He also created the Speaker Survivor Series, which helps raise money and promotes awareness for various charities and causes throughout the region. Jason has also been a board member of the Burgettstown Area Community Development Corporation since 2007, and serves on the committee for WTAE-TV and the Salvation Army's Project Bundle Up. |
