Eight term incumbent currently serving as Democratic Caucus Chairman. Extensive community leadership experience including Past President of the Jewish Family and Children's Services, Chair of the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition, Past Trustee Of the University Of Pittsburgh.

In addition to the highlighted information I am married to Debra R. Frankel LCSW a clinical therapist in private practice and we are the parents of three children: Aaron, Erica and Mark. I have worked as an insurance executive since 1980. My interest in running for elective office was fueled by my extensive involvement in my community and my city. These activities included 12 years as a member of the Board of the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, In addition I continue to Serve on the Boards of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Carnegie Libraries, WQED, The Magee Women's Hospital Research Foundation and a Trustee of the University of Pittsburgh. Each of these activities and experiences has helped to inform my role as a legislator and provide me with a better understanding of the needs of my district, our region and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
