Mike supports an extraction tax on Marcellus Shale, which would bring an additional $1.4 billion in revenue for the Commonwealth. This is a commonsense policy change that every other state with a fossil fuel producing industry has enacted. Pennsylvania stands alone with the special deal granted to our oil and gas drillers. Even Texas and West Virginia have an extraction tax, and it is unconscionable that the Commonwealth bears the burden of the risk of drilling, and doesn't receive a fair share of the revenue like every other state.
