? 1. How would you prioritize the fiscal choices the Legislature must make to align the state’s income and spending?

Answer from Jorge Salomon Fuentes:

My priorities are food, housing, transportation, environment, education, and family. Promote local initiatives to address local issues so the legislature can focus on statewide issues.

? 2. Given our current drought condition, concern for water rights and usage is an important issue. What solutions would you support to address our water problems?

Answer from Jorge Salomon Fuentes:

Build more intelligent homes and buildings to recycle roof top water and reduce water consumption. Reform landscape designs to reduce water consumption. Use drop outlets instead of sprinklers for irrigation.

? 3. California high school students rank lower than many states in student performance. What do you see as the ongoing role of the Legislature in addressing this problem?

Answer from Jorge Salomon Fuentes:

Reform property tax laws to close loopholes and increase funding for education. Promote effective teacher, teacher assistant to student ratios. Promote 100% high school graduation by funding diverse high school degrees with technician and college path concentrations.

? 4. What other major issues do you think the Legislature must address? What are your own priorities?

Provide food, housing and transportation to the unemployed so they can go and get a job.
