This information is provided by the candidate |
My statement details my position as a candidate for the office of Board Member to the City of Santa Rosa High School District. As a member of the Santa Rosa City Schools District Board of Education, as a teacher at Santa Rosa Junior College, and as a Director for both the California and National School Boards Associations, I am firmly committed to providing our community with quality educational programs which raise academic standards and improve the performance of graduates so that they are career and college ready. Education standards are constantly changing to address the skills students need to excel in our competitive economy. I consistently support using resources to ensure all students receive a solid educational foundation. Our district can be proud of our excellent teachers, administrators, and classified employees. Our high school career training and university transfer pathways are recognized statewide as model programs. Our elementary schools are exemplary. Our University Partnership, Early College Magnet, International Baccalaureate, Restorative Justice, and Art Quest programs create excellent options for our students. Each of these programs brings distinction to our District. With your support, I will continue to give my time, energy, and commitment towards building great schools that ensure the future of all children are driven by their aspirations and not bound by their circumstances.
