Candidate for
Council Member; Town of Atherton

Thank you for your past support and for allowing me to represent and serve you on Atherton's Town Council. This is an honor as well as a privilege which I have never taken for granted.

I am a fiscal conservative who believes elected officials need to be consistent and accountable for their actions. As with my last campaign, I have provided not just sound bites and catch phrases but specifics as to what I believe needs to be done to keep our town safe and financially stable.

Four years ago, I told voters we should expect more and they agreed. I said I would be budget-minded and provide leadership on key issues. My campaign issues, background and qualifications, and first term plans are still available on my website, http://www.Bill4Atherton.com, and in checking it, you will see that I have kept my commitments and together, we have achieved much.

• Today our books are balanced, with the Town generating a surplus.
• Our long term liabilities are being addressed and have been substantially reduced.
• Outsourcing has produced substantial savings and improved performance and responsiveness.
• Street and drainage improvement projects are funded and underway.
• Our Park is being renewed with new operating funds and capital programs.
• Public meetings are all video recorded and made available to improve transparency.
• Master Plans for our Town Center, our Park, the Town's Drainage Infrastructure and Bike and Pedestrian Paths have been developed with substantial community input.

• Spend Wisely & Maintain Vigilance on Town Spending & Taxing.

  o Prioritize projects according to validated need and timing.

  o Seek outside funding sources from neighboring communities, the State and grants when fitting.

  o Manage projects for on-time and on-budget completion.

  o Resist growth in the Town's operating expenses to keep the town in the Black.

  o Continue pay-down of our long term obligations.

• Protect and Enhance the Town's Environment o Preserve our park and update its facilities, especially focus on the historic Carriage House.

  o Engage state and federal officials to reduce traffic flows throughout our town, improve safety (especially on ECR) and reduce noise pollution from aircraft and trains.

  o Build the Library with earmarked funds and the Town Center with private funds.

• Use technology/streaming video to create inclusive, virtual town meetings.
