Candidate for
Board Member; Jefferson Union High School District

For the last seven years, I've served as a JUHSD and SSFUSD substitute teacher in Daly City, Pacifica, and South San Francisco, primarily at Jeff, Terra Nova, South City and El Camino. Prior to that, I was a teaching assistant at Thornton and worked for the DC Recreation Department's Teen Services at JUHSD schools. I actually began high school at Oceana, graduated from Westmoor in 1998, and continued in CA's public higher education system, first at UCLA, then to CCSF and SF State after needing to return home to support my family. These experiences, coupled with being raised in a Mixed, Latino, union family, are the foundations for my belief that access, equity and accountability in public education and employment are the defining issues of our generation, issues I have fought to improve as a community organizer, public policy advocate, and activist in the Bay Area and statewide for over 15 years. As the only candidate who has attended JESD and JUHSD schools from K-12 as well as worked for JUHSD, I ask for your support to bring my insight and community-driven dedication to the JUHSD School Board.
