Click Here for my full agenda to move Los Osos Forward Let's Move Los Osos Forward Los Osos CSD Director Jon-Erik Storm believes that Los Osos faces a bright future--and we can't be held back by the past. With the right leadership and hard work, the sky is the limit. This new chapter for Los Osos beckons and the responsible leadership team that made it possible are the right ones to carry us forward into it. For too long, we have fought with each other on issue after issue. These disputes have impacted the CSD, which has spent years cleaning up the damage from these battles, such as the bankruptcy. With the bankruptcy over and major local projects moving rapidly towards completion, we face a new chapter in the history of our town. First and foremost, the stable, competent, and realistic management of our local services must continue. Los Osos deserves it. Jon-Erik has worked with the current board to ensure that happens. By demonstrating that Los Osos is not only capable of local control, but that we can do it well, the second element of Jon-Erik's agenda for the future can be secured: local control on local matters. Local Control of Our Future. Why aren't decisions that only impact Los Osos made only by people who live in Los Osos? Better yet: Why are decisions that only impact Los Osos residents being made by people who don't live here--sometimes overriding those who do? Whatever you've thought about our past local disputes, don't you think that it should be you, your family, and your neighbors who are making the decisions about matters that only impact Los Osos? Jon-Erik does. Jon-Erik will make it a priority in his 2014-2018 term to study feasible ways to enhance local control of municipal services, such as parks and recreation, and make sure Los Osos is getting its fair share of services and facilities. To accomplish this, Jon-Erik will continue building relationships both with concerned community members and outside officials to secure our democratic rights to local control. |
