The San Luis Obispo Tribune September 16, 2012

"PETERSON'S VISION MAKES HER BEST PICK FOR GROVER MAYOR

... Debbie Peterson is thoroughly familiar with the workings of municipal government and the issues confronting the city, including its fiscal challenges.

We believe Peterson's vision for the city and her wealth of business, public relations and government experience give her the edge.

After earning a bachelor's degree in communications ... she started a small bakery business ... that grew to 95 employees and $6 million in annual sales ...

We're impressed by her ability to build a business from the ground up, and we believe she has the skills, the experience and the energy to promote Grover Beach in a way that will attract the tourism and the new businesses it needs to get back on a firm financial footing. We also like her strong support of the Grover Beach Lodge & Convention Center."

A mayor who listens

By Sharon Brown

Grover Beach September 22, 2014

I am a longtime resident of Grover Beach and am voting for Debbie Peterson for re-election as mayor.

I have attended City Council meetings for years, but my voice went unheard. I wasn't a part of the "good ol' boys" political network.

It wasn't until Mayor Peterson's election in 2012 that I finally felt a part of this city. Mayor Peterson actually listens to the people who live here, work here, have businesses here and do business here.

Realizing that decisions in other jurisdictions might impact our city, she also keeps involved with what's happening in our county, region and state. I respect her doing her homework. Her attention to detail has saved our city many thousands of dollars. She is not beholden to anyone or any big money contributor. She faces the challenges of tough decisions by "doing what is right" for people and for our city.

Now it is our turn to do what is right. Vote in the November election and re-elect Mayor Debbie Peterson. She has earned it.

Debbie Peterson is a great example of what a politician should be. She listens, she cares, and she gets results. Go Debbie!

Her time to lead

By Dave Ekbom. former mayor, Grover Beach

Grover Beach September 23, 2014

I respect Debbie Peterson. She has served us well for two years as mayor. She is knowledgeable, professional, with an independent voice. She works here in Grover Beach, is easily available, attends most events and is always willing to meet and discuss issues with her constituents. It is now her time to lead Grover Beach. She is not one of the "good ol' boys," but is willing to stand up for what she believes. She is who I want representing me. I hope you agree.

Re-elect Peterson

By Michele Cochran

Arroyo Grande October 13, 2014

A gentle reminder: Make your vote count for you.

I am a proud member of the Five Cities-area "family." I grew up here and understand how important it is to have leadership that really cares for our towns.

In Grover Beach, you have Mayor Debbie Peterson, who is up for re-election. She is the person whom we all say we want, in the political arena, working for us. Debbie is thoughtful, sincere, ethical and energetic. I know her heart, and it is true to Grover Beach and those who reside there.

Our Five Cities mayors serve on countywide committees, and that is why I would like to see Debbie Peterson re-elected as the mayor of Grover Beach. Do it for you.
