|
T.J. Zane has nearly 20 years of experience as a political professional and has provided direct campaign management services for candidates for public office at every level of government, as well as consulting services for several citywide and countywide ballot initiatives. Zane recently served over seven years as the chief executive for the Lincoln Club of San Diego County, growing it into the region's largest and most influential pro-business political action committee, and is now focused on resuming his consulting practice and building the San Diego County Prosperity Institute (and Foundation), two non-profits he incorporated in 2013. In recent years, Zane served as committee chairman of two very successful, high-profile ballot initiatives: the No on Proposition D (2010, City of San Diego) campaign to defeat a citywide ½-cent sales tax increase, and the Yes on Proposition B (2012, City of San Diego) campaign to pass first-of-its-kind, comprehensive pension reform for public employees. Zane's experience also includes management or consultancy roles for the "TransNet" campaign in 2004; the campaign to preserve the Mt. Soledad memorial "As it is, Where it is" in 2005; the Southern Californians for Jessica's Law committee; and the campaign to defeat a 2006 proposal to locate commercial aviation operations at MCAS Miramar. Zane is a proud graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, with degrees in Political Science & Communication. An Eagle Scout and Connecticut native, Zane currently serves as a board member for the No Excuses University Foundation, Los Pen Academy Foundation (President), San Diego-Imperial Council of the Boy Scouts of America (Chairman, Black Mountain District), and is a member of the elected Central Committee of the Republican Party of San Diego County. Zane is married and has two boys, ages 11 and 3, and a newborn girl. He enjoys a quality microbrew and, whenever time permits, long-distance cycling. |
