Board Member; Carlsbad Unified School District; Full Term

I strongly believe that our community and our country are built on the equality of opportunity, meaning anyone can raise to the top as long as they work hard and apply themselves. This is only possible if we provide every student the opportunity for a world class education. I also believe that evidence-based, practical leadership is more effective for our schools than a rigid ideological approach. The partisan approach to policy that drives Washington, DC and many of our national political issues, should not be replicated in Carlsbad and our school district. Political decisions for me, need to be based on the simple test of whether it improves student outcomes or not.
