I grew up in rural Ohio, attended public schools, received a bachelor degree from Hiram College and a master degree from San Diego State University. I am bilingual and bi cultural in Spanish, and taught Spanish in public schools for 36 years. During my career, I served as department chair and Teacher on Special Assignment for: Parent Involvement, Student Connectedness, Professional Development, and Technology by teaching teachers how to embed technology in curriculum and instruction and managing a $1,000,000 budget. My school selected me, among a teaching faculty of nearly 200, as Teacher of the Year. I participated in district budget negotiations, professional development design, leadership development, and educational and procedural policy development. Ramona has been my home for thirteen years. |
