Board Member; Encinitas Union Elementary School District

Emily Andrade worked in education for 41 years demonstrating her commitment to excellence and a quality education for every child. In addition to serving as a member of the Encinitas Union School District Board of Trustees for the last four years, Emily Andrade served the children and families of Encinitas as Principal for 17 years and the children of Santee as an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Vice Principal, and teacher for 20 years. She received numerous awards including: California Distinguished School's Principal and National Blue Ribbon Principal.

During Emily Andrade's tenure on the Board, Encinitas Union School District has been recognized for high academic achievement. This year alone 7 of the 9 schools were honored as California Distinguished Schools, the district received Classroom of the Future Impact Award for student digital initiative and was named one of 9 districts in the nation to receive Green Ribbon District Sustainability Award.

A proven leader, Emily Andrade is committed to service, community and fiscal responsibility. She is a Rotarian and works tirelessly on many community service projects. Through prudent management of education tax dollars, Emily is proud of the district's financial solvency during her term.
