City BudgetBy John J. AguileraCandidate for Council Member; City of Vista | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Since I was elected, the city has eliminated the $9 million structural deficit and increased the city's emergency reserves by 50%.Despite the city's improved financial outlook I feel we need to be diligent in how we manage our budget and manage it conservatively. During my 4 years on City Council we have completely eliminated a $9 million structural defict. The City has always had a balanced budget, including the last 4 years that I was on Council. When I entered the Council our reserves were at 10% of our budget at this point our reserves have increased to %15. I plan on continuing to increase our reserves, I would like to see it at 20%. |
