My husband and I have lived in Saratoga for almost twenty years, having moved here just after we were married. We have two children who currently attend Saratoga High School. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Economics from Dartmouth College and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Stanford University. My work career has focused on product marketing and strategic planning for technology companies here in Silicon Valley.
My father was a university professor (the first in his family to even attend college), so perhaps it was inevitable that I would become so passionate about ensuring that children receive a high quality education. Over the years I have actively volunteered my time in our Saratoga schools. From 2001-2004 I served on the board, and eventually as the president, of the Saratoga Parent Nursery School. In recent years I have been in many of our elementary school classrooms, most frequently helping with math and science learning. I am very interested in technology as a way to improve and better differentiate learning. And I have spent quite a lot of time attending presentations, reading, and speaking up at school board meetings about implementation of the new Common Core standards. I will draw on this experience as a member of the school board charged with overseeing the quality of the education delivered to our children.
