This information is provided by the candidate
I have been a high school biology teacher for the past twenty years. During that time I have had chance to spend many hours and travel many miles within the MROSD lands. I have hiked or biked virtually every trail within the publicly accessible 62,000 acres, both on organized district activities and leading student groups. I have participated in planning activities held by the district in the interest of promoting increased public access.
As an educator I have had many opportunities to relay the importance of preservation of the rapidly dwindling natural settings available to us.
I hold a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from San Jose State University
Previously I represented the United States in two Olympic Games, 1988 Seoul South Korea and 1992 Barcelona Spain (Men's Discus Throw).
My appointment in the November election will assure more activity toward increased public access to all users in the Open Space District.
