Thank you for electing and trusting me to represent you on the school board for the past seventeen years. Like you, I have a vested interest in the education of our children. My expectations are high and I will continue to support:

  • fiscal responsibility,
  • basic reading and mathematics skills,
  • 21st century technology and career training,
  • STEM Academy
  • Health and Biomedical Sciences Academy
  • Law and Public Safety Academy
  • advanced placement curriculum,
  • safe schools,

The economic situation of our state has caused a tremendous hardship on our district. Federal and State monies, including your tax dollars have been withheld and reduced drastically, directly impacting the education of our students. Finally, some new monies are coming to our District.

I am the only candidate and board member with experience in private practice. This experience gives me an understanding of setting and maintaining a realistic budget and living within those means. I am the only candidate and the only sitting Board Member who is not an educator. We need this diversity.

In an effort to maintain the highest standards, I have lobbied for reducing expenses as far away from the classroom as possible. I have supported operational changes to reduce costs.

Having lived here for 45 years, I am available, willing to listen, and consider all viewpoints before making a decision. I have the best interest of the student as my guiding principle.

Serving as President of the School Board, operating my own Civil Engineering business for 31 years, and being Calimesa's City Engineer has prepared me to lead the District. Other community involvement includes Automobile Club (AAA) Advisory Board Member, CRYROP Board Member, co-chair of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and previously being active with Yucaipa's Budget Development Committee, Economic Advisory Committee and Little League.

I will work hard to earn and keep your trust and continue improving our schools. Your continued support is appreciated.
