Political Philosophy for Matt Rahn
Candidate for |
I believe that City leaders must always remember that they serve the public and they must not take that trust for granted. City leaders must continue to foster a collaborative, open, and transparent environment by remaining responsive and respectful when community members express their opinions or attend public meetings. We need to work closely with the community to address their issues and concerns, fostering an environment of inclusion and openness. We need to go out of our way to attend neighborhood meetings and community events, while also embracing the increasingly popular social media and digital communication. This can significantly improve our ability to keep in touch with the community and inform them of important events and information. As your representative, I will promise to: Communicate proactively with the public about relevant issues, using email, Facebook, committee meetings and similar public venues to interact directly with Temecula residents and members of the business community Hold regular and accessible "office hours" where members of the public, business community, agencies, and City staff can meet directly with me in a casual and open setting both at City Hall and at local restaurants, coffee shops and other venues Support citizen efforts to get honest, prompt and complete responses from City Hall and increase the availability and accessibility of information Encourage and foster public participation at community meetings and public events |
