Economic Growth

Improve/Increase ability to attract large and small businesses to the city.

Increase Household Earnings.

Encourage large and small business retailers to establish businesses in the city.

Create The Small-Business Connection - Increase the number of resources available to Small/Home-Based Businesses.

Promote Higher Education

Implement Destination Higher Education: creating a college going culture.

Partner with UCR, RCC and Mt. San Jacinto to establish satellite class sites in the city.

Partner with Perris Union School District and Val Verde Unified School District to provide ongoing college bound workshops/classes to residents.

Increase Access to Employment Skills Training

Partner with trade union apprenticeship programs and the EDD/Worksource Center to provide services to residents.

Improve Efficiency

Assure: The Strategic Plan is meeting the needs of the residents.

The Current Boards/Commissions are fully functioning.

Work closely with City Manager to assure:

City services are provided to the residents in an efficient manner.

City Department's services are being fully utilized and operating to its full capacity.

Establish relationships with and regularly meet with Riverside County District 5, State Senate District 31, State Assembly District 61 and Federal District 41 leaders to assure that Perris is a top priority.

Public Safety

Work closely with Riverside County Sherriff to develop plans to reduce DUI's, Auto Thefts, and Larceny.

Create AB109 Realignment Task Force/Advisory Board.

Increase awareness and participation in the city's Citizens on Patrol and Neighborhood Watch Programs.

Increase Transparency

Establish monthly electronic newsletter.

Greater social media presence.

Create a text alert system.

Host community meetings informing residents of the city's business.

Establish Citizens Oversight Committee.

Increase Access to Social Resources (Improving Livelihood)

Establish a Community/Social Service Commission (community non-profits, community group leaders, clergy and at-large residents).

Increase programming for city's youth.
