A long-time resident and homeowner in the city of Mission Viejo, I love Orange County. I moved to the state in 1978 as a young First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, where I was assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at the Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro. I am a decorated combat veteran of Desert Storm and went on to command a Marine F/A-18 Hornet squadron and Marine Aircraft Group. As a Colonel I served three years as Chief of Staff of the White House Military Office. I retired from active duty 2004.
After military service I flew as a commercial airline pilot, and later went into business as president of an automobile parts distribution firm. I am a published author of the book 9 Lives of a Fighter Pilot.
I am married to his wife Luci, and we have three wonderful children Michael, and twin daughters, Kristen and Kathryn. Luci is a supervisor for student teachers at the University of California, Irvine, and our girls are both educators with the Irvine Unified School District. My son, Michael, served nine years in the United States Marine Corps as an F/A-18 Weapons Systems Officer, and earned the rank of Major. Michael currently resides in Austin, Texas, where he works for a Fortune 500 company.
