Kris Murray is an elected member of the Anaheim City Council, currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem. She has been a proven leader for Anaheim serving on the boards of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Southern California Association of Governments, and Orange County Council of Governments.

During her tenure on the Council, Kris Murray has been a champion for public safety + authoring a budget initiative to hire 40 sworn police officers over the next four years and 15 firefighters, increased paramedic services, invested in neighborhoods citywide with 100 community projects funded this fiscal year, and is a strong supporter and volunteer for community programs across the City of Anaheim. Kris Murray has also championed economic development initiatives in Anaheim and regionally + she co-chairs the Anaheim Economic Consortium and chairs the annual Anaheim/OC Jobs Fair. Murray has been a stalwart supporter of negotiations to keep Angels Baseball in Anaheim and supports expansion of the Anaheim Convention Center to ensure the city continues to be the premier convention and tourism destination on the West coast.

Professionally, Kris worked for more than two decades in the public and private sectors in the transportation industry.

Murray has a bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach and a Master's Certificate in Transportation Management from the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University.

Kris and her husband, Steve Murray, live in Anaheim, and have one young son.
