The only way to effectively reduce the fire fuel load is to hire conservation and fire safety crews to begin addressing the decades of built up fire fuel in the watershed. Certainly, a good place to start with this type of programmatic approach would be to reengage with the Tam Fire Crew. The Tam Fire Crew employs 12 firefighters who specialize in wildland vegetation management and fire suppression. The Tam Fire Crew has not been on MMWD's watershed for years and is ready, willing and able to do so. |
