I support side road maintenance once the roads are brought up to County standardsI believe that many of the side roads that are not in the sphere of influence for maintenance by the GWCSD should be brought up to the county standards if that is the desire of the residents of those private roads. While the GWCSD is prevented by law from expending any district funds on those private roads, it would enhance the district and the convenience for the residents to have the roads accepted by the county and maintained by the district. Procedural steps are defined in "Application for Formation of a Zone of Benefit within County Service Area 9" that spells out how the residents must proceed to deed their ownership of the road to the county and request the GWCSD accept that road for maintenance. While GWCSD funds have been illegally spent on selected side roads in the past that does not make it legal to do so again. |
