Candidate for
City Council Member; City of South Lake Tahoe

Wendy David has dedicated more that 40 years to the welfare of children and families. She served as Co-Director for Tahoe Parents Nursery School for 14 years and as the site manager of CASA El Dorado for more than 10 years, advocating for the best interests of children in the Court system. She has been an active CASA advocate since 1994.

Wendy has a Bachelor's degree from Chico State in Social Sciences and has used her experience, knowledge and passion to initiate and lead many boards, organizations and Commissions. She participated in founding Bread and Broth, Tahoe Magic and the SLT Cabinet of the El Dorado Community Foundation, all three of which she is still active in. She has served as a Commissioner for First Five El Dorado since 2006, the last two years as the chair of the Commission. She is a liaison for the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation, is a member of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra and facilitates the Lake Tahoe Collaborative. She served 6 years on the El Dorado Child Abuse Prevention Council.

Wendy believes that communities are only as strong as their community members and that we each have a responsibility to contribute to the health, education and future our children.

Public education is a cornerstone of that future and Wendy's leadership has been most apparent as a Governing Board Member for LTUSD since 1997, most of those years as the Board Chair. She will be stepping off after 17 years and is campaigning for a seat on the City Council.

Wendy and her husband Kerry have 4 children and 7 grandchildren about whom she also feels very passionate.
