Kim grew up in Belvedere, Marin County, California until 1976. Nancy Pelosi used to rent her family home in the summers. She moved with her father to Greenwich, Connecticut until 1984. She attended prep school in Connecticut and started her undergraduate studies in Massachusetts at Tufts University. She completed her Bachelor of Science in 1986 from the University of California, Berkeley where she studied Russian and Economics. Her thesis was on Soviet arms sales to 3rd world nations. Kim lived in San Francisco until 1989 when she moved to Berkeley. In 1996, Kim served on the Step One School board. In 2000, she moved to Kensington. In 2003, Kim served 2 terms on the Orinda Horsemen Associate board. In 2007, Kim was on the Kensington Property Owner's Association (KPOA). In 2010, Kim was appointed to the Kensington Municipal Advisory Committee (KMAC) by Contra Costa Board of Supervisor President John Gioia. Kim works in software development including start ups and Fortune 100 companies including the Prudential Group, AXA Insurance, and Verizon Wireless. Kim currently manages Quality Assurance at an iPad medical application company in the East Bay. Kim is Jewish and is a member of Congregation Beth El in Berkeley. Kim is married with 4 children ages 20-9. For fun, Kim rides marathons on her Arabian horse all over California and Nevada.
