I currently serve as the EBMUD Board Vice-President with 20 years of service; have been a Piedmont Mayor; and UC Berkeley graduate. I am proud to have represented environmental, conservation, infrastructure, and customer issues on the East Bay Municipal Utility District in Ward 3 for the past 20 years. For years, I have worked hard to plan for our water needs now and in the future. Twenty years ago I could already see the importance of bringing a supply of water into the District in dry years. I was able to bring everyone together on a project that was a WIN-WIN-WIN for all! I fought for the water we have available to us today, while other communities are suffering restrictions due to the drought. I have succeeded with my initial goal when I first ran: to secure a supplemental water supply for drought protection. Our Freeport Regional Water Project is complete and has delivered us much needed water during this dry year. My leadership and your conservation efforts mean we don't have mandatory rationing today. But my work is not done! I have a real track record of leadership on the Board and in the community. That is why I am running for re-election. |
