In November of 2008, we had a historic national election in which our city and the nation dared to aspire to a new and better world. Here in our dear Richmond we made significant gains toward a better government, bringing more fairness and balance to our societal responsibilities.

The Gary family story is a proud moment of local African American affirmation, and it is a success achieved with an amazing formula: Standing up for your rights and sticking it out, defending the principles and seeeking and receiving the support of decent people of all races and income levels.
