1. As a member of the city council, what would you do, if anything, about improving city services for the homeless?? Give two examples of services that you feel need to be improved.
Food and shelter are the most pressing needs of our homeless. I support the efforts of the Davis Street Family Resource Center to provide food and clothing; Building Futures with Women and Children, and the development of the Cornerstone Apartments to provide temporary emergency shelter and affordable rental housing for our lower income, working households and families.2. What is your long-term plan to assure that your jurisdiction has enough money to meet operating needs and service demands?
My long-term plan to assure the City of San Leandro has sufficient funding to meet its operating needs and service demands is to promote greater innovative economic development of our Downtown, Bayfair Mall, and Westgate Shopping Centers and to advocate for transit-oriented development and pedestrian-friendly sidewalk businesses for our high-tech millennials now looking at San Leandro's fiber-optic connected locations to re-locate their businesses.
