I have lived in Berkeley, right here in District 8, for almost 20 years with my husband, a Berkeley native and CAL graduate, a dog and two cats. Michael and I met in Southern California where I was born, raised and educated (I am a "baby Bear" - UCLA graduate). I am the proud stepmother of a daughter (also born in Berkeley) and a son-in-law who live in Brooklyn, New York with their dog, Ruby, and cat, Rabbi.

Following the successful 4th Bore neighborhood litigation, my work as a neighborhood advocate began. I am passionate about our community and work hard at community building, government transparency fiscal responsibility and preservation of historic assets. My concern about ensuring we have a livable community and safety for our families, children, and elderly is the fuel that keeps me motivated to serve.

Some of the work I have initiated or serve as a leader include:

Founding Berkeley Council Watch . I attend and report on every council meeting Coordinated the activities of Berkeley Budget SOS and the FACTS Initiative Member of the Sunshine Ordinance team President of the board of the Claremont Elmwood Neighborhood Association (CENA) Member of Berkeley Neighborhoods Council where I led the neighborhood redistricting effort Board member of Council of Neighborhood Associations Participated with the Coalition for a Responsible Stadium Member of the City of Berkeley Loan Administration Board Executive director of the National Post Office Collaborate, which partners with Save the Berkeley Post Office

Since my early teens I have volunteered to help our most vulnerable citizens. I know first-hand the needs of our community and am a resolute advocate on their behalf. While living in Los Angeles, I was Vice-Chair of the board of The United Way's Los Angeles Metropolitan region, which included Watts and south central Los Angeles. Also, I served as Treasurer of the board of Family Support Services of the Bay Area, and was also on the board of Aviva Center and a founding member of UCLA Friends of Business Economics. Currently, I work with the Notes and Words team who promote an annual benefit for Children's Hospital of Oakland.

Over the last 30 years, I have accumulated the tools that we need to ensure that Berkeley will remain great for future generations. My professional experience provides the foundation for skillful, creative and collaborative problem solving. And my community service has provided the insight to address the needs of our neighborhoods, its residents and Berkeley citizens who are less fortunate.
