Paola Laverde-Levine was born in Colombia and raised in Los Angeles, Ms. Laverde-Levine graduated from California State University Long Beach with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. She worked 15-years in television news production in both English and Spanish-language stations in Los Angeles and San Francisco and worked for fours years as a freelance interpreter in Solano County Superior Courts. Most recently Ms. Laverde-Levine has focused her video production skills and bilingual abilities to produce educational videos for heath agencies, nonprofits and for an educational software startup. She is a board member of the Child Care Law Center and was the campaign manager for the Bring Rodrigo Home - Kids For Kids campaign.
Ms. Laverde-Levine has lived in the Bay Area since 1991 and in Berkeley since 2000.
