Candidate for
Mayor; City of Oakland

Born and raised in the flatlands of East Oakland, Ken Houston is a life-long builder and community advocate for bringing Oakland together as a whole. He attended public schools in Oakland, went to Laney College and trade school, then joined the Plumber's Union. After building his skill sets in the union, Ken Houston began specializing in remodeling blighted homes in Oakland, and from there moved to commercial jobs and public works projects. As a community advocate, Ken Houston has the passion and drive to change the face and image of the City he knows so well, and has a foolproof strategy to put Oaklanders back to work. As Mayor, Ken Houston will not change who he is or what he is doing -- he will simply continue his mission to make Oaklanders proud to say, "I am from Oakland!"
