Julina Bonilla is a product of our community college system, with a track record of championing quality education and job training opportunities. Julina attended a California community college as a mother with four young children before transferring to UC Berkeley, where she received her B.A. in Sociology.

A former Oakland Unified School District teacher, Julina's job training programs have created hundreds of job opportunities for East Bay youth.

As Co-Chair of the Oakland Workforce Investment Board, Julina led efforts to strengthen East Bay youth summer and year-round job programs.

By forging effective partnerships between Oakland schools, business leaders, and city government, Julina provided hundreds of young people with the opportunity to compete effectively for jobs in today's competitive environment.

As Peralta Trustee representing Emeryville, North and West Oakland, Julina will fight for: Up-to-date technology in college classrooms, ensuring students are prepared for the 21st Century global workplace; Fiscal Accountability to put every dime available into classrooms and teaching environments; and Excellent College Transfer Programs so every student who wishes to go on to a UC or State system can do so.
