Candidate for
Director; Castro Valley Sanitary District

I have served as the Appointed Director of CVSan for the last two years. During that time the Board has set policy through a sea of tightening regulations and forged stronger alliances with other agencies and our partner Oro Loma Sanitary District, where our wastewater is treated.

Professionally, I am a senior product marketing manager at Adobe Systems. I have more than 18 years of experience in business, marketing, and communications. I have managed staff and budgets. And, I have been a business owner. In 2016, I will graduate from UC Davis Graduate School of Management with my MBA.

I have been a Castro Valley resident for 19 years. My children went to elementary through high school here. I have served as President of the PTA of Palomares Elementary School and spearheaded an effort to replace the athletic fields at Creekside Middle School. My husband, Christopher Appleton, has a law practice in Castro Valley. He also serves as the president of the board of Baywood Court.

Serving on the board of CVSan is a natural progression of my desire to contribute to a positive and thriving community.
