I believe government belongs to the people. Democracy was designed to serve everyone, not just the special interests that can afford to pay for disproportionate representation.

Democracy is designed to reduce the corrupting influence of power by spreading it around. The most important qualification for any elected position is a dedication to the people and community.

I love Democracy. I love Ventura County, I love California, the United States and the world, and I place all these things above my own personal interests.

I have never worked in government, and neither I, nor anyone in my family has ever run for public office before. However I've worked with government as a community activist for many years and I do understand how it works.

There are 60 permanent employees in the Recorder's office who know their job well and will continue doing their job long after I've gone. What this position needs is a representative of the people who will lookout for the interests of the people, ask probing questions, and speak up if anything is found amiss. That's ME!
