Commitment to the People of Stanislaus CountyBy Adam E ChristiansonCandidate for Sheriff-Coroner; County of Stanislaus | |

Stanislaus County has suffered hard times over the last several years and we've all been faced with making difficult, unprecedented decisions. The ability to do more with less has become the new normal. As your Sheriff, our team has worked hard to manage cuts and shrinking budgets by making your Sheriff's Department leaner and more efficient while maintaining a high baseline of service for our community. Despite budget shortfalls, the Sheriff's Department has managed to strengthen mutual aide partnerships and countywide policing efforts by working together with other agencies and community based organizations which results in a positive public safety effect for our respective communities. Today, we're dealing with the mandated release of State prisoners into our jail and our community. Under prison realignment, Stanislaus County is now housing, supervising, and tracking an additional 1170 convicted felons. In anticipation, we have asserted a proactive shift of department resources to combatting crimes, breaking cycles of addiction/violence and reducing recidivism. It has been my goal that the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department be no less than one step ahead of criminal activity. We've done this effectively and our collaborative efforts continue to have a positive impact. As we begin the long road to economic recovery a strong, smart, and proven approach to law enforcement will be more important than ever. I've been honored to serve as Stanislaus County Sheriff and could not be more proud of the men and women who work every day, under extraordinarily difficult circumstances, keeping our community safe. I would sincerely appreciate your support of my re-election campaign. Law enforcement cannot be successful without collaborative partnerships and relationships within our community and I look forward to continuing our efforts on behalf of the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department and the people we serve. Thank you. |
