  • Party: Democratic
  • Occupation: Nonprofit Organization Director
  • Served in the State Assembly from 2010 to 2012 representing the 53rd District. The Governor signed 14 of her bills during her term.
  • Focused on a safe and healthy environment, she passed the law banning the toxin BPA in baby products and carried the first moratorium on fracking.
  • Named Legislator of the Year by the Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Veterans (AMVETS) recognizing her work for those who served.
  • Serves on the boards of the Redondo Beach Veteran's Memorial Task Force, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project of Los Angeles and Peace Over Violence.
  • Spearheaded the effort to convert 6.2 acres of fallow land into multi-use sports fields in Torrance by organizing local, county and state agencies.
  • Worked for the CA League of Conservation Voters, Environmental Defense Fund, served in the Clinton administration and on the CA Film Commission.
