Smart Voter Official Statement for Mike Wasserman

Candidate for
County Supervisor; Santa Clara County; Supervisorial District 1

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Member, Board of Supervisors, District 1
Age:55
Education and Qualifications:
When I ran for County Supervisor in 2010 I said that I would make public safety and health, economic development and government efficiency priorities. I am happy to report that I kept my promises to you while providing County services in a cost effective and transparent manner.

I am described as having "a head for numbers and a heart for people," which I apply daily as your Supervisor. During my term, we've maintained public safety services, invested in regional economic development, and tackled tough budget issues. I have also championed programs to help the homeless by getting them housed, a win-win since a housed person uses far fewer costly County services.

I am endorsed for re-election by Santa Clara County Firefighters IAFF Local 1165, CDF Firefighters Local 2881, Los Gatos Police Officers Association, San Jose Silicon Valley and Gilroy Chamber of Commerce PACs, and Santa Clara County Farm Bureau. Sheriff Laurie Smith, Assessor Larry Stone, District Attorney Jeff Rosen, Mayors Chuck Reed, Steve Leonardis, Burton Craig, Steve Tate and Don Gage.

I ask for your vote again. Together, we will continue to make government more efficient, cost-effective and accountable to all Santa Clara County residents. Thank you. http://www.mikewasserman.com
