Occupation: Police Officer/Teacher
Age: 32
Education and Qualifications:
Remember when San Jose was the "safest big city in America"? Every day we read about violence and rising crime in our neighborhoods. This must stop. Irresponsible policies coming from City Hall must change.

I love being a San Jose native and San Jose State graduate. I'm proud to be a San Jose police officer, a Santa Clara County substitute teacher, and a former EMT. I serve on the Santa Clara County Human Relations Commission, the Rosemary Gardens Neighborhood Association Board, as well as volunteer for numerous local non-profit organizations.

My collective experience in public safety, education, volunteerism and neighborhood involvement allows me to bring a fresh and passionate perspective to City Council. We must fight to reduce crime rates, restore our police, fire and city services, and address homelessness. I'll be a strong advocate for downtown businesses so they remain in San Jose and provide good quality jobs with a living wage to our residents.

I care deeply about San Jose. I'm fiscally and socially responsible and will provide the leadership needed to put trust back into city government. If you believe we need a change, then I respectfully ask for your vote. Thank you. http://www.RaulPeralez.com
