Occupation: Incumbent We've accomplished much together. A "gun buy-back" program taking almost 500 dangerous weapons off our streets. $1 million back into the City budget for gang prevention and intervention. Saved crossing guards from budget cuts. Restrictions on predatory pay-day loan companies. Voter approval increasing the minimum wage. Balanced city budgets even with a down economy. Looking ahead, we must restore our public safety departments to full strength. We need pension reform - but negotiated reform. Disastrous public safety policies forced on us by downtown corporate interests have left our police and fire departments in shambles. Our neighborhoods bear the brunt of increased crime - it must end! While public safety is priority one - I will continue working for good jobs for our community, more public park space, clean streets, affordable healthcare and better schools. Living here all my life, I know we can make our community safer and better. I would be honored to represent you again on the City Council. Thank you. http://www.XavierCampos.com |
