Biography

My ability to be a good judge is based on my character, experience, knowledge and skills.

I have been working as a courtroom attorney in the Santa Clara County courts since 1993. For twenty years I have worked as a courtroom attorney in San Jose representing hundreds of people from the diverse communities in Santa Clara County. I respect the people I represent and the court. I see each person as an individual and every case as unique and I understand that the people involved are in a serious and stressful situation. As a lawyer I help my clients understand their circumstances and options. I evaluate facts in order to provide the best possible representation. As a judge I will hear all sides and evaluate the facts to assure a just process for all parties. I am a diligent and dedicated attorney and I will be a diligent and dedicated judge. I will bring all my knowledge and skills to the bench.

I was born in central California and was brought up by parents who taught me the importance of civic responsibility, education, ethics and civil rights. I traveled and had several jobs before going to law school. I chose law because I believe it is an important and honorable profession. Civilization depends on settling disputes civilly, peacefully and lawfully. Also, I am very good at organizing and navigating complicated situations because I attend to the details while maintaining a view of the big picture.

Work Experience

I opened a private practice in San Jose in 2001. Also, since 2008, I have worked as a contract attorney appointed by the Santa Clara County Court through the County Counsel's Independent Defense Office. And, I volunteer to sit as temporary judge in small claims court.

Annrae has also worked as a substitute teacher, for a non-profit distributing films educating against child sexual assault and spousal abuse, and was a student group leader and manager.
