In considering my campaign for City Council, I felt it was important to present clear ideas to this community that all meet one basic criterion: Promises that are fully doable. If you vote for me, you're saying that you would like to hire me for a job you need done. You deserve to get what you asked for. This is my platform. There are three parts which comprise my central interest in running for this seat:

1) Assuring Sacramento invests in small-business, creating at last the reputation of Sacramento being a "small business-friendly" city + Such ideas as the Small Business Roundtable, where the City assists prospective and new owners of small business by providing a regular event to inform, educate, and support those with small-business inclinations is one way to begin the process. As a part of this forum, creating a speakers series each month of people who have succeeded at creating small businesses, and finance representatives, styled sometimes the way a job fair is conducted.

2) Transparency and honesty. A no sugar-coating zone. Aside from legal or security requirements, all constituents are welcome to examine every aspect of the work I will be doing as a member of the City Council. When there are legal preclusion to transparency, a full explanation will always be given as to why. I will gladly see constituents in frequent office-hours settings who want to discuss any aspect of city business or concerns. What does this mean? It means when you see a way in which the City comes up short, you have a direct line of support in me to try coming up with a way to help you. We all deserve more access than just email addresses or a couple minutes of talk at Council meetings. And when you do come to those council meetings to talk, you will get my attention.

3) The youth of our neighborhoods. It is critical we develop ways to enrich the lives of youth in the district and citywide. I am interested in continuing the good programs Sacramento offers, such as summer reading, sports, and recreation. I am interested in locating sponsorship to increase the impact of these events, plus expand what's done into more music and arts events. Compared to other cities of our size, Sacramento has a very large talent pool and artistic sentiment. We need to maximize this.

I welcome questions, comments, and support on these and other issues.
