  • Taught as a university instructor; also taught American Sign Language and Exact Sign Language to students
  • Worked with school districts to develop training programs for teachers
  • Balanced budget every year as Mayor, leading city with no debts, no loans, and no bonds
  • Served on school district Instructional Materials Review Committee
  • Served as President of the Saddleback College Foundation and of the Beta Foster Care Advisory Board
  • Married to husband Wayne, with two daughters, one son, and two sons-in-law, who have all attended public schools
